We Need Club Members to Volunteer at Bob Noel Tennis Classic

Don't be caught dead not volunteering at the Bob Noel Tennis Classic!

The Club will need members to volunteer to help with the Bob Noel on Friday, November 17th and Saturday, November 18th. On Friday we need volunteers to (1) purchase the food that we will serve to the participants on Saturday and (2) greet players at Southern Oaks Country Club while handing out participant shirts. On Saturday we need Club members to volunteer to set up for our annual grilling of burgers and hot dogs for the participants, serve the food and help cleanup following the event.

The Bob Noel is a great event for members to get to know other members of the Club. If you've never volunteered at one of our Bob Noel Tennis Classics then you are truly missing out on the social benefits of membership. Please contact Katie Watson or Danny Boyer to let them know how you plan to help with this year's tournament.

On October 28th from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M., the Mansfield Summit Key Club will be hosting a night of "Spooks, Service, and S'mores" at Clayton W. Chandler Park! ( 1530 N Walnut Creek Dr, Mansfield, TX 76063)
Throughout the night, there will be simple service events for Key Clubbers to earn their hours and an unlimited amount of free s'mores, snacks, and refreshments! We will also be selling pumpkins to paint and various accessories to raise money for Treat-or-Treat for UNICEF to help eliminate neonatal tetanus!

Fall Brings Opportunities to Serve the Club
By: Todd Simmons

We finally had some Fall weather this week. Changes are on the way as far as the weather, and I for one am excited for cooler temperatures. However, our club is heating up!

We have our Bob Noel Tennis Tournament coming up in less than a month. We have decided to move the tourney to a new location, Southern Oaks Golf and Tennis Club. They have just completed construction of a brand-new tennis facility which is being managed by our friend and supporter, Ernie Abraham. I hope the change will bring a new excitement and more participation for our tourney.

The next upcoming event is the FALALALA 5K. Greg Barberee is working on a new logo and we are expecting great weather this year plus a record attendance for runners. As we discuss these events in our meetings, please think of vendors, friends, and family you know who might be interested in helping us raise funds for the kids in the MISD.

I recently attended a meeting with the Chamber Nonprofit Council and our speaker indicated that over 70% of donations are from individuals. Our fundraiser committee will meet soon and discuss way we can tap into the population of Mansfield to increase our club donations.

As many of you know, the Magic Show is our best annual fundraiser and those monies come from phone calls made to individuals in Mansfield. Let’s keep our club hot through the coming months. Ask someone to visit the club. Thanks for being Difference Makers.

Registration is now open for the Mansfield
Kiwanis Fa La La La 5K to be held on
Saturday, December 2, 2017. The run will
once again start and finish at Katherine
Rose Memorial Park and utilize the Walnut
Creek Linear Trail.
Register now for the early registration fee
of only $25 and to guarantee one of our
long sleeve, performance t-shirts. (The
best 5K shirt in town!) Early registration
ends on November 19th! After November
19th registration cost increases to $30 and
we cannot guarantee a shirt.
For more information about the run, please
visit our website at www.falalala5k.com.
